The China Institute for Actuarial Science at Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) is a distinguished research and educational hub for actuarial science in China, established in 2003. One of the Institute's significant achievements is its active role in the 111 center,which focuses on "Insurance Risk Analysis and Decision-Making." This project addresses vital issues such as the construction of multi-level risk protection systems, agricultural risk and insurance, and insurance company asset-liability management, aiming to achieve world-leading breakthroughs in these areas.
The Institute has been recognized for its excellence in actuarial education, receiving the advanced course exemptions from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) in 2017, a first for an Asian institution. In 2018, it wasfirstgrantedin mainland Chinathe Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) certification by the Society of Actuaries (SOA), and in 2024, it became one of the first universities in mainland China to receive the "Silver Partner" certification from the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS), underscoring its commitment to high standards in actuarial education.
